I’m very excited to share this winter engagement session in Old Town Alexandria ,Virginia! This engagement session was my first shoot for 2023, and it came out SO beautifully.
This was my first time meeting Andrew and Sara in person. After our meeting on Zoom, I KNEW I would love working with them, so I was really looking forward to this shoot. When I talked with Sara, she mentioned to me that she wanted rustic industrial, vibes for her engagement session to match the wedding aesthetic they have chosen … think exposed brick, warm lighting, and industrial-era buildings. Historic Old Town Alexandria was the perfect fit with its old homes, stone alleyways, and beautiful waterfront – all the perfect compliments for their upcoming wedding at Union Mills Public House.
I can attribute the success of this session to how absolutely great Andrew and Sara are! They helped make this session so laid back and fun. This full-length engagement shoot almost felt like a mini-session with how fast the time seemed to be going! At around one hour, right before walking to our last location, both Andrew and Sara mentioned how they couldn’t believe we had been together for an hour already. I absolutely loved getting to see them interact and have fun together in front of the camera. All the smiles laughs, and cute moments came so easily. Every time I would start to tell Andrew to whisper something to Sara or make her laugh or giggle, he was already in the process of getting a genuine laugh out of her and that’s what I love to capture. As the time flew by we made our way to the waterfront to celebrate with champagne and capture the awesome photos that followed.
To Andrew and Sara: thank you both for making the start of 2023 so much fun! I CAN NOT wait to be with you guys again on your wedding day. I know it will be even better than our engagement shoot!
Hope you enjoy the photos from this great evening!
